Current Cures For Plantar Warts

Warts are unsightly tumors that grow on the skin normal seen on fingers and hands but can potentially affect any area of skin and sometimes actually found inside the mouth but increasingly on the genitals. Contact with the skin of someone who has warts may be enough to catch them if you are more susceptible to warts but they can still be passed on through the contact of a towel of someone who is suffering with warts.

With the exception of warts that are found on the soles of the feet, warts are usually quite painless but genital warts are highly contagious; caught during acts of sex, even oral. Strangely, warts only seem to affect people after the age of three and women can actually have them inside the vagina and be completely unaware they are there.

A tiny cut or scratch can make any area of skin more vulnerable to warts and, if a child picks at a wart, it can spread to other parts of the body but warts don’t generally cause any problems, so it’s not always necessary to have them removed, unless you have concerns. Treatment of warts is generally carried out owing to the adverse cosmetic affect they have but it isn’t a bad idea if they become a persistent problem. A common method of removing them is by the application of liquid nitrogen and after a few treatments they usually drop of but this has to be performed by a doctor.

Current Cures For Plantar Warts...

Most people are aware of the common wart but many different strains exist. In fact over one hundred types exist, known as human papillomavirus; some have very specific areas of attack including those that form on the genitals or anus.

Some people are more naturally resistant to the human papillomavirus viruses and don’t seem to get warts as easily as other people but for those who are more susceptible, even biting your nails can also cause warts to spread on your fingertips and around your nails. Those small cauliflower-like papules seen on people’s fingers, especially around the cuticle area are the common wart and these usually appear to have small dark specks in them which are blood vessels.

Another type of wart is the flat wart that just rises above the surface of the skin and is ‘flat’; these tend to appear more on areas of the face, arms or legs and will sometimes be seen in very large groups. Often discovered in the urethra, vagina and anus, ano-genital warts are highly contagious; they have a preference for the damp areas and can also appear skin colored but not always plus they are not always the same shape.

Although it is quite common for warts to just disappear months or years after they were discovered, some are more persistent and have to be treated with either treatments available at drugstores or by a doctor. The most common type of treatment involves salicylic acid which is readily available at drugstores and supermarkets but remember that removing a wart with salicylic acid requires a strict regimen of cleaning the area, applying the acid, and removing the dead skin with a pumice stone or emery board.
