Genetal Warts On Foreskin

Warts are unsightly tumors that grow on the skin normal seen on fingers and hands but can potentially affect any area of skin and sometimes actually found inside the mouth but increasingly on the genitals. Some people are unfortunate enough to catch their warts from someone else, even if is only because they used their towel.

The most contagious of all warts are genital warts which are caught from another person who has them during sex, even orally, who may not even know they have them but all warts except for those on the soles of the feet do not cause pain. Strangely, warts only seem to affect people after the age of three and women can actually have them inside the vagina and be completely unaware they are there.

Broken areas of skin are more susceptible to warts as the virus has easy access and they can spread when picked at by children although they do not generally cause any problems other than how they appear to others so it isn’t always necessary to get rid of them. Stopping warts from spreading is generally the best reason to have them removed especially with children who are more likely to pick at them. Whilst it is quite normal to buy ointments for example over the counter, the doctor can actually freeze warts with liquid nitrogen but this remedy does require more than one treatment.

Genetal Warts On Foreskin...

The human papillomavirus family of viruses which cause warts is actually quite large despite most people perception that all warts are fairly similar. In fact over one hundred types exist, known as human papillomavirus; some have very specific areas of attack including those that form on the genitals or anus.

Not everyone gets warts, although the reason for this remain to be discovered but for those who are susceptible, they can even be contracted by biting their nails to close to the skin at the end of the finger. Those small cauliflower-like papules seen on people’s fingers, especially around the cuticle area are the common wart and these usually appear to have small dark specks in them which are blood vessels.

Another type of wart is the flat wart that just rises above the surface of the skin and is ‘flat’; these tend to appear more on areas of the face, arms or legs and will sometimes be seen in very large groups. Often discovered in the urethra, vagina and anus, ano-genital warts are highly contagious; they have a preference for the damp areas and can also appear skin colored but not always plus they are not always the same shape.

It is not known why but often warts will vanish on their own but in some cases this can take years, others however, require a little help as they are persistent and show no signs of disappearing. The most common topical treatment for warts and verrucas is salicylic acid an various forms, which is available in most drugstores and whilst it is effective, it does require strict adherence to the cleaning regime.
