A wart is generally a small, rough tumor, typically on hands and feet, that can resemble a cauliflower or a solid blister; they can grow on all parts of your body including on your skin, on the inside of your mouth, on your genitals and on your rectal area. The common wart which is more than likely those found on someone’s fingers or hands are still contagious if they are touched but it is not uncommon for someone to contract warts from using the towel of someone who has the condition.

With the exception of warts that are found on the soles of the feet, warts are usually quite painless but genital warts are highly contagious; caught during acts of sex, even oral. It is quite common for warts to disappear on their own although it cab take years for this to happen or as short as a few months, but some warts are stubborn and require additional treatment. The most common topical treatment for warts and verrucas is salicylic acid an various forms, which is available in most drugstores and whilst it is effective, it does require strict adherence to the cleaning regime.
