Planter Wart Treatment

Warts are unsightly tumors that grow on the skin normal seen on fingers and hands but can potentially affect any area of skin and sometimes actually found inside the mouth but increasingly on the genitals. Contact with the skin of someone who has warts may be enough to catch them if you are more susceptible to warts but they can still be passed on through the contact of a towel of someone who is suffering with warts.

With the exception of warts that are found on the soles of the feet, warts are usually quite painless but genital warts are highly contagious; caught during acts of sex, even oral. Strangely, warts only seem to affect people after the age of three and women can actually have them inside the vagina and be completely unaware they are there.

Broken areas of skin are more susceptible to warts as the virus has easy access and they can spread when picked at by children although they do not generally cause any problems other than how they appear to others so it isn’t always necessary to get rid of them. Many people have warts removed as they do not look pleasant or to stop them infecting other areas but even if the warts are removed there is no guarantee they will not return. The favorite method of getting rid of warts by doctors is with liquid nitrogen which is extremely cold but even this usually takes more than one application.

Planter Wart Treatment...

Common warts are a type of infection caused by viruses in the human papillomavirus family but there are many different types. There are in fact in excess of one hundred different types of warts in the human papillomavirus family; each is specific to an area or the body.

Not everyone gets warts, although the reason for this remain to be discovered but for those who are susceptible, they can even be contracted by biting their nails to close to the skin at the end of the finger. Common warts appear most often on the tops of the fingers and hands, usually along the cuticles, as rough, thick, cauliflower like papules that develop on their own or in large numbers and often contain one or more tiny black dots, that are actually small, clotted blood vessels.

The warts sometimes seen on the face, legs and arms are the flat warts which are much smaller that their common wart cousins; they are also smoother and skin colored but they can often be found in groups which may contain many, even a 100 or more. Anal and genital warts are much more serious not just because they are highly infectious but they are in particularly sensitive areas of the body and can be found internally, even inside the urethra.

It is quite common for warts to disappear on their own although it cab take years for this to happen or as short as a few months, but some warts are stubborn and require additional treatment. Most people that want to rid themselves of warts or verrucas will by an ointment with salicylic acid as the active ingredient which is generally very successful at getting rid of them but it is important to follow the enclosed instructions to the letter as a strict program of cleaning is necessary.
