Ranitidine For Warts

Warts are one of the more unsightly types of tumor that grow externally on a persons body and are generally most prevalent and the hands or feet but they can also grow around male and female genitals, even on the inside of the mouth. Some people are unfortunate enough to catch their warts from someone else, even if is only because they used their towel.

The most contagious of all warts are genital warts which are caught from another person who has them during sex, even orally, who may not even know they have them but all warts except for those on the soles of the feet do not cause pain. Women can actually have warts on the inside of the vaginal walls and not know they have the growths.

Warts generally appear after a person has cut or grazed themselves and can spread from there but other than being unsightly, they do not normally cause any harm although that does not mean it isn’t beneficial to have them removed on occasion. One reason to treat warts is to prevent them from spreading further, but common warts may recur after treatment, and they may be a persistent problem. A common method of removing them is by the application of liquid nitrogen and after a few treatments they usually drop of but this has to be performed by a doctor.

Whilst warts all tend to be referred to as common warts, this is not the case as there are a large number of variations. There are more than 100 types of human papillomavirus viruses; some types of human papillomavirus tend to cause warts on the skin, while other types focus on the genitals and rectal area.

Some people are more naturally resistant to the human papillomavirus viruses and don’t seem to get warts as easily as other people but for those who are more susceptible, even biting your nails can also cause warts to spread on your fingertips and around your nails. The surface of the common wart has the appearance of a cauliflower and often contains tiny black dots which are in fact blood vessels that have clotted and are most often seen near the tips of fingers, sometimes in a group.

The warts sometimes seen on the face, legs and arms are the flat warts which are much smaller that their common wart cousins; they are also smoother and skin colored but they can often be found in groups which may contain many, even a 100 or more. Often discovered in the urethra, vagina and anus, ano-genital warts are highly contagious; they have a preference for the damp areas and can also appear skin colored but not always plus they are not always the same shape.

It is not known why but often warts will vanish on their own but in some cases this can take years, others however, require a little help as they are persistent and show no signs of disappearing. The most common topical treatment for warts and verrucas is salicylic acid an various forms, which is available in most drugstores and whilst it is effective, it does require strict adherence to the cleaning regime.
