Warts On Hands
The problem with warts (a tiny rough unsightly tumor) is they can grow almost anywhere on the body including inside the mouth and genitals but are most usually seen on the hands and feet. Contact with the skin of someone who has warts may be enough to catch them if you are more susceptible to warts but they can still be passed on through the contact of a towel of someone who is suffering with warts.
Even though genital warts are like most other warts, do not cause any pain (except warts on the areas of the foot where you apply pressure when walking) but are nonetheless highly contagious and can be contracted during any type of sexual act. A person will not generally become vulnerable to warts until after the age of three and after this they can grow almost anywhere and in women even inside the vagina which often aren’t detected until they have an examination.
A tiny cut or scratch can make any area of skin more vulnerable to warts and, if a child picks at a wart, it can spread to other parts of the body but warts don’t generally cause any problems, so it’s not always necessary to have them removed, unless you have concerns. Treatment of warts is generally carried out owing to the adverse cosmetic affect they have but it isn’t a bad idea if they become a persistent problem. Whilst it is quite normal to buy ointments for example over the counter, the doctor can actually freeze warts with liquid nitrogen but this remedy does require more than one treatment.
Warts On Hands...
The human papillomavirus family of viruses which cause warts is actually quite large despite most people perception that all warts are fairly similar. The 100 hundred different type of wart in the human papillomavirus group are quite focused in the areas they attack including those that are found in the genitalia.
Often warts appear when people bite their nails as the delicate skin is an ideal area for growth but some people are not as susceptible to warts as others although the reason for this at present unknown. Those small cauliflower-like papules seen on people’s fingers, especially around the cuticle area are the common wart and these usually appear to have small dark specks in them which are blood vessels.
The small flat skin colored papules are in fact flat warts and are more likely to be seen on the face legs and arms sometimes in very large groups which may contain hundreds of them. Warts found in the ano-genital area can also be flesh colored, also gray but these might be shiny and have the cauliflower appearance as well; they like damp areas and this is why they can be found inside the vagina and even the urethra.
It is quite common for warts to disappear on their own although it cab take years for this to happen or as short as a few months, but some warts are stubborn and require additional treatment. Treatments available to remove warts and verrucas are generally easily obtained from a drugstore and contain salicylic acid which is very good but the cleaning regime during the treatment is very specific and must be followed.
